What the SEVEN years?!

This past Monday, Brent and I celebrated our SEVENTH year wedding anniversary. That is right. SEVEN YEARS! Can you believe that I have put up with him that long!? haha... more like him putting up with me! Either way... it has definitely been a crazy ride for the both of us!

The first year was definitely the longest year of our marriage. I will put it simple. It was a never ending hell! Ok... I might be exaggerating a bit on that! :) If it weren't for the temple sealing, I am sure that we would have contemplated divorce. But luckily we didn't and it has been great for the past six.

The next couple after that were filled with work and Brent's electrical schooling/apprenticeship. After that was over, we were blessed with Kenna B. and then a lot of job changes from there on out! Little Gavs came on year 5 1/2 and we have been rollin' ever since!

I am sure that most people think our marriage is crazy, but it works for us and we are both happy! Neither one of us has ever slept on the couch (due to us both being extremely stubborn), or suffered the silent treatment. Although, sometimes that would be easier! hehe

So Brent.... here is to seven more fun filled years! I love you and I am glad that you decided that I was the one you wanted to kiss the rest of your life! I am glad that our kids look a lot more like you than me. I am glad we can fight and then laugh about it afterward. I am glad that you put up with my crap and I put up with yours! I am glad that you are tall and I am short. It is so fun! You rock my world babe!!!
The blessed day (I know this picture makes me look FAT)

One week....

I am one week sober. I would love to say that it has been easy, but I can't. I can say, it hasn't been as bad as I thought, but I want it. Bad. I haven't even had a headache. I just miss drinking it! My mouth waters every time I hear Brent open a can. I can almost taste it as I look at a can. But I don't. I do have willpower when I choose to, and this, I must have willpower. I can and will overcome my craving. Until then, here are some words of advice to the other addicts out there.

It's not worth it!. There really is no purpose in doing so. Bottom line. It sucks, so if you aren't gaining weight, getting heartburn or any other nonsense, don't quit. Just enjoy it and be the happy person it makes you be!

My name is Lyndsi.....

and I am an addict.

Today, August 16, 2009 will be my last day of Diet Pepsi (hopefully). I am slowly drinking my last can right now and I can't believe I am going to try and quit. I thought I never would, since it is DIET and there are no calories in it, but nevertheless, I shall try.

How does one know they are an addict you might ask?! This is how I figured it out (besides Heather saying that I drink more Pepsi than anyone she knows)
-You know that 32 cent Tuesday is at the First Stop and that 44 cent Wed. is at the Chevron
-Your child's first words are COKE
- You save your Maverik cups to take and get refills to save money
-You rob your kids piggy banks so you don't have to swipe your debit card for .68 (that is for two 32 cent drinks)
-You actually swipe your debit card for .68 when you forgot to rob the bank!
-You have more Diet Pepsi in the fridge than you do bottles of water
-You know where all the soda deals are
-You know that Costco has the best deal!
-You crave it no matter what you do. Whether its brushing your teeth, eating ANYTHING (especially sweets), getting ready for bed, you get the idea...
-You only will go to restaurants that serve Diet Pepsi (which aren't that many)
-You know who has the nastiest Pepsi around and avoid it like the plague (Fabulous Freddies)

Once again, my name is Lyndsi, and I am an addict.

WARNING: I may be crabby, sick, trembling, have a MASSIVE and short tempered for awhile, but please don't give up on me. Call to make sure that I haven't gone into some sort of coma, that my kids are alive and well, and that Brent hasn't left me for good because the "rash" just won't go away. (And no, he doesn't have an STD)

Good bye Diet Pepsi. How I have loved you and will always love you. It is better that we part our ways now. It isn't you, it's me. You have gotten me through the worse days of my life, two newborns, and just every day life! Thank you.

B-O-N-N-I-E

Last night as I was trying to bore myself to sleep (I have to do that on most nights), I was doing random poems about some of my friends, seeing what words rhymed with their names, etc. So since I don't have much to post about, I thought I would share my FANTASTIC poems with all four people who read this! Don't be offended if I don't poem about you. It just means that I fell asleep before I could get to you!!!

I hope you don't mind that I call you Bon,
but I think you are a really great mom.
Madison, Porter, Ry and Brayd
are the cute babes that you have made.
You fell once down some stairs,
but got up like you didn't care!
Your favorite baby is Aaron Smith,
and for eternity you are with.
You are thoughtful, pretty, and really fun
Are you ready for this poem to be done!?
Beans, fruits and veggies you love to eat
and will finish it off with a delicious treat!
So how do you stay so thin my friend?
I promise this is almost the end!
We all love our Bonnie so!
And now I really am going to go!

OK, wake up now! I hope the poem didn't put you to sleep like it did me! Anyway, stay posted for more to come!!! :) YEE-HAW for everyone (if I haven't scared all ya'll away)
